FLEETWOOD, Pa. -- Kutztown University women's golf hosted its home spring invitational Sunday afternoon at Moselem Springs Golf Club. The Golden Bears placed fifth, led by another top five individual finish from
Brooke Graham (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs).
Graham was one of three Golden Bears to shoot in the 80s, carding an 83 (+13) on a cold and blustery day to tie for fifth overall. The sophomore led KU with six pars in her round and recorded a birdie on the 315-yard par 4 No. 14.
Rhi Stutz (Prescott, Wisc./Prescott) picked up a birdie on hole No. 1, a 325-yard par 4 and had a strong back nine with five pars to finish with an 85.
Gabby Cohen (Jeffersonville, N.Y./Sullivan West) collected six pars on her way to an 89 as the duo finished inside the top 20.
Brooke Prindiville (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Lake Zurich) was the final scorer for the Maroon and Gold with a 102, while
Grace Klements (Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Pinelands Regional) shot 105.
Alivia Miesowitz (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) had a 104 and
Alexis Peet (Greentown, Pa./Wallenpaupack) a 106 playing as individual entries.
Alvernia put three golfers in the top five, including medalist Emmerson Bartley with a 9-over par 79, to win the tournament with a 327 (+47). Bloomsburg was 16 shots back in second at 343 (+63) and Clarion took third at 347 (+67). Millersville (353, +73), Kutztown (359, +79) and East Stroudsburg (384, +104) made up the rest of the team standings.
The Golden Bears are back in action next weekend when they take part in the Millersville Women's Invitational at Tanglewood Manor Golf Club in Quarryville, Pa.
