HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. -- Junior
Alexis Peet (Greentown, Pa./Wallenpaupack) posted a final round 85 to lead the Kutztown University women's golf team with a 19th-place finish at the Alvernia Invitational at Bulle Rock, Wednesday.
Peet trimmed her first round score by six shots with a birdie and six pars on the difficult Bulle Rock Golf Course. The Greentown, Pa., native finished with a 36-hole total of 176 (+32).
Grace Klements (Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Pinelands Regional) followed up her opening round 92 with a 91 (183) in the final round to tie for 24th. The sophomore had a strong back nine with six pars and a 5-over par 41.
Gabby Cohen (Jeffersonville, N.Y./Sullivan West) took 29th with a two-day total of 185 (91-94). She registered six pars during her final round.
An unfortunate run of illness within the team kept Kutztown from recording a team score. The Bears were without leading scorer
Brooke Graham (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs), while
Brooke Prindiville (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Lake Zurich) had to withdraw prior to Tuesday's first round and
Rhi Stutz (Prescott, Wisc./Prescott) withdrew before the start of the final round.
The tournament at Bulle Rock was the sixth and final one for KU during its fall season. Kutztown will resume its schedule in the spring as it prepares for the PSAC Championship at Berkleigh Golf Club, April 25-27.
