KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Kutztown University has elevated assistant women's basketball coach
Justin Hallman and assistant men's basketball coach
Tom York to the title of associate head coach.
Â
Hallman and York were the longest-tenured assistant coaches with their respective programs, providing support in all facets of team operations.
Â
Hallman is in his 13th season with the KU women's basketball program in 2024-25. Alongside head coach
Janet Malouf, Hallman has helped the Golden Bears captured two PSAC East championships (2018-19, 2021-22), reach the 2019 PSAC championship game and qualify for the 2021-22 NCAA Division II Championship tournament.

He played college basketball at Cabrini College before graduating in 2006. Hallman earned a Master of Business Administration from Piedmont in 2012.
Â
York's Kutztown roots date back to his collegiate playing days, where he was a three-year starter, two-time team MVP and 1981-82 All-PSAC East honoree for the Golden Bears.
Â
After seven seasons as the head women's basketball coach at KU from 1987-94, which included a PSAC East Coach of the Year award in 1989-90, York enjoyed a stint as a successful high school girls' basketball coach in Berks County at Wilson and Exeter before returning to Kutztown ahead of the 2001-02 season.
Â
Now in his 23rd year with the men's basketball coaching staff under head coach
Bernie Driscoll, York played an instrumental role in helping the Golden Bears to six PSAC East titles (2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2011-12, 2015-16, 2016-17). Kutztown has appeared in four PSAC championship games and four NCAA Tournaments.
Â
All six of KU's PSAC East Athletes of the Year, both of its PSAC East Defensive Athletes of the Year and four of its six PSAC East Freshmen of the Year were coached by York.
