MILLSBORO, Del. – The Kutztown University women's bowling team is currently in 11th place at the UMES Hawk Classic, after day two of the three day competition at Millsboro Lanes in Millsboro, Del.
 

Schools joining the Golden Bear in participation at the competition include the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Fairleigh Dickinson, Central Missouri, Vanderbilt, St. Francis, Stephen F. Austin, Adelphi, Valparaiso, Sam Houston State, Sacred Heart, New Jersey City, Monmouth, Norfolk State, Delaware State, Howard, Morgan State, and Hampton.


KU went 1-4 on the day with a total pin fall of 4598 and 8299 in the tournament. The University of Maryland Eastern Shore still leads the competition in first place with 9359 pins, followed by Central Missouri with 9336 pins for second place. Vanderbilt (9267) is in third trailed by Fairleigh Dickinson (8964), and Sam Houston State takes fifth with 8729 pins. In sixth is Adelphi (8699) followed by Stephen F. Austin (8570) and Valparaiso (8565) in eighth place. Sacred Heart (8542) is in ninth, with St. Francis (8432) in 10th and the Golden Bears (8299) in 11th.


The Golden Bears defeated Valparaiso 1026-899 to bring their overall record to 21-10.


The Maroon and Gold return for the final day of action Sunday, November 18, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
