KUTZTOWN, Pa. – USA Lacrosse Preseason Midfielder of the Year
Sam Graf (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. This marks Kutztown lacrosse's sixth PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
Graf posted notable defensive efforts in both games last week. Against No. 2 West Chester, she recorded a team-high four caused turnovers, along with one ground ball and one draw control. She followed up with a career-high seven caused turnovers at Shippensburg, adding four more ground balls and another draw control.
With 52 caused turnovers on the year, Graf leads both Kutztown and the PSAC, and ranks fourth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (3.25). She currently sits second in program history for caused turnovers in a single season—just three shy from setting a new school record, a milestone well within reach heading into the final regular-season matchup.
Graf also made her presence felt offensively last week, dishing out seven assists and scoring one goal.
She and the Golden Bears now turn their attention to their final regular-season game—a PSAC matchup at Millersville on Wednesday, April 23, at 4:00 p.m.
