Lanny Buck represented the Kutztown University men's track & field team on one of the biggest stages there is, and turned in a third place finish in the pole vault that was made up of mostly Division I competitors.
Friday's official attendance of the 121st Penn Relay at the University of Pennsylvania was clocked at 39,130. Buck represented the Maroon and Gold in front of the sixth-largest crowd in Penn Relays history, and did not disappoint.
The pole vault consisted of 36 competitors on Friday, and nearly the entirety of the field was made up of Division I student-athletes ranging from the University of Texas, Princeton, Penn State, Auburn and Cornell. Buck was the only pole vaulter from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
In the two competing sections, Buck finished second in the group and third overall in an existing NCAA Provisional mark of 15-9 (4.80m). It was his first time competing at the Penn Relays.
The Golden Bears return to action as a team in their regular season finale on Saturday, April 25 at Shippensburg for the Paul Kaiser Classic.
