Complete KU Game Notes

SERIES HISTORY: Saturday marks the 24th meeting between Kutztown and Clarion. Dating back to a 46-0 Clarion win in 1941, the Golden Eagles lead the head-to-head series, 15-8. The last two games against Clarion have gone to overtime. Both were played at Clarion, as Clarion makes its first trip to University Field at Andre Reed Stadium since 2008. KU has not defeated Clarion at home since 2006. KU fell in overtime in 2013 at Clarion, 39-38, but won last year's road game in overtime, 41-35.

SECOND PLACE: Kutztown's second-place finish in the East is its best since winning the title and PSAC Championship in 2011. It exceeded the league's expectations of fifth in this year's preseason poll, as head coach Jim Clements secured his second winning season in as many years at the helm of the Golden Bears.

TOTAL OFFENSE: KU is averaging 481.6 yards of total offense per game this season, on pace to break the school-record of 481.1 from 2012.

MAGIC NUMBER = 24: KU head coach Jim Clements is 9-0 in his Kutztown career when holding opponents to 24 or fewer points.

POINTS, POINTS, AND MORE POINTS: KU has scored in all four quarters in back-to-back weeks, and in 10 consecutive quarters spanning over three games.

TRICKERY: Last week against Shippensburg, KU ran a toss play to wide receiver Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg), who fired a 58-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Kelly (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area). It was Williams' first career TD pass, and Kutztown's first TD pass by a wide receiver since Zach Snyder, doubling as a holder on field goals, threw one on a fake field goal attempt on Sept. 17, 2011 at home against Lock Haven.

GREAT SCOTT: Darrell Scott (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) is coming off his first multi-touchdown game of the season. He ran for a pair of two-yard touchdowns last week in KU's win over Shippensburg. It marked the 10th and 11th of his career, moving him into a tie for 15th all-time in KU history for rushing touchdowns.

SNIFFING OUT THE ENDZONE: Senior running back Terry Williams (West Orange, N.J./Cosby (Phoenix College)) ran for his 20th career touchdown last week, moving him into sole possession of seventh all-time at KU. It also marked his 11th of the season, fifth-most in KU single-season history.

YARDS PER CARRY: Terry Williams (West Orange, N.J./Cosby (Phoenix College)) ranks second in the PSAC and 17th in Division II at 6.77 yards-per-carry, the most for a KU back with at least 100 carries since Dontay Wilson's 7.37 average in 2008.

ANOTHER GAME, ANOTHER CATCH: Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) has caught a pass in all 43 of his career games, a school-record. It is the longest active streak in the PSAC for consecutive games with a catch. If Reed catches a pass in Saturday's season-finale, he would close his career with a streak of 44 games, the third-longest in PSAC history.

2,000 CAREER YARDS: Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) (2,777) and Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) (2,086) are the first Golden Bear duo on the same team to each have 2,000 career receiving yards. Reed is KU's all-time leader as a senior, while Williams is ranked fourth as a junior.

SENIOR SEASON SWAN SONG: Redshirt senior Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) has set career-highs in all categories this year. He is fourth in the PSAC at 91.5 receiving yards per game, fourth at 10 receiving touchdowns, and fifth at 5.8 receptions per game. He is the sixth player in school history to grab 10+ TD catches in a season and the first since 2011 (Josh Smith).

RECORDS FOR REED: Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) holds two of Kutztown's three career receiving records. He has a record 2,777 receiving yards, 24th in PSAC history, and a record 29 touchdown catches, 13th in PSAC history. He is second in KU history with 191 career receptions, nine shy of KU Hall of Famer Mark Steinmeyer's record 200.

KELLEN'S CORNER: Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) is having a career year, ranking in the top-eight in the PSAC in all receiving categories. He ranks fourth in receiving yards (887), fifth in receptions per game (5.8) and seventh in receiving touchdowns (8). He has 58 catches for a career-high 887 yards this year, highlighted by a 219-yard effort in a win at Indiana (PA). He has three double-digit catch games in his career and seven 100-yard receiving performances. He has caught a pass in 28 of his 31 career games.

JUST A JUNIOR: For his career, junior wideout Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) ranks fourth all-time at KU with 21 receiving touchdowns, fourth with 2,086 career receiving yards and seventh with 151 catches.

AK18: Anthony Kelly (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area)'s 112 yards and two scores vs. Shippensburg marked season-highs for the senior. He moved into 15th in KU history with 92 career catches, eight shy of the century mark, 15th with 1,309 career receiving yards, and tied Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) for fourth all-time with his 21st career touchdown catch.

LONG PLAYS: KU has posted six offensive plays of 50+ yards this season. Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) has TD catches of 63 and 70 yards this year, as well as a 58-yard TD pass to Anthony Kelly (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area), Kodi Reed (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) has a 65-yard catch, James Wah Jr. (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) has a 62-yard TD run and Terry Williams (West Orange, N.J./Cosby (Phoenix College)) has a 98-yard TD run.

STARTING CENTER: Junior Ben Cregger (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) has made 21 consecutive starts at center for Kutztown.

300-300 GAME: Against ESU three weeks ago, KU displayed its most balanced attack of the last three years, producing 301 rushing and 321 passing yards for 622 total yards of offense. It was KU's first 300-300 game since Oct. 27, 2012, a 366-yard rushing and 344-passing yard performance at home against Millersville.

100-100 GAME: KU posted a 100-yard rusher and a 100-yard receiver three weeks ago in its win over ESU, the only time for KU this season. The last time it posted a triple-yardage rusher and receiver in the same game was against ESU in 2014.

SCHOOL-RECORD RUN: Terry Williams (West Orange, N.J./Cosby (Phoenix College)) took his first handoff vs. ESU three weeks ago for a school-record 98-yard touchdown. It broke Emneko Sweeney's 17-year record of 91 yards from 1998. It is the second-longest touchdown run in PSAC history and the longest run in the conference since a record 99-yard run by Edinboro's Lester Frye in 1991.

BLOCKED PUNTS: Sherief Sutton (York, Pa./Central York), Ryan Hubley (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) and Kurt Kenny (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) have all blocked a punt this year. Prior to this season, KU hadn't blocked a punt since 2009 and had not blocked three in a season since it blocked four in 2005.

DEFENSIVE TOUCHDOWNS: Tyler Pratt (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) has two defensive touchdowns this year. He recovered a blocked punt by Ryan Hubley (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) against West Chester for a 20-yard touchdown (the first punt block for a touchdown for KU since 2004), and had a 31-yard interception return for a touchdown last week vs. Shippensburg (the first interception return for a score since 2011).

HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY: 2015 marks the 100th season of Kutztown University football. Beginning in 1895, Kutztown's all-time record in 817 games stands at 361-433-23 (.456).

EARLY LEAD: Kutztown has led at halftime in 16 of its last 17 wins. It had led at half in 11 consecutive victories before KU's 21-point comeback win this year at Indiana (PA).

DEFENSIVE LEADER: Zack Delp (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) has made 22 consecutive starts at middle linebacker for KU. The junior leads the team and ranks 13th in the PSAC with 77 tackles at 7.7 per game. He has notched 10 or more tackles in five games this year and nine in his career. For his career, Delp is two tackles shy of 200. 20 players currently have 200 career tackles in school history.

FIRST YEAR LINEBACKER: Redshirt freshman Tajier Jefferson (East Orange, N.J./Queen of Peace) is having a tremendous debut for KU this season. He has started at linebacker in each of his nine games this season and ranks third on the team with 63 tackles, the most for a freshman at KU since English Peay (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington) had 66 in 2011. He leads the team with 14.5 tackles-for-loss, second in the PSAC, and has two double-digit tackle games this season. He was named the PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week earlier this year.

400-YARD RUSHING ATTACK: KU ran for a season-high 400 yards in its win over Millersville, the first 400-yard performance in recorded school history. KU ran the ball 57 times, the most in 12 years since it ran 62 times at Cheyney on Nov. 8, 2003.

BARTON'S BUNCH: Chad Barton (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) lead the PSAC this season in completion percentage (61.2), and ranks third in passing yards (2,781), touchdowns (26) and completions per game (21.3). His 278.1 passing yards and 299.2 total yards per game are both career-highs.

5,000 YARDS - 50 TDs: Chad Barton (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) is the fourth player in school history to surpass 5,000 career passing yards and 50 career touchdown passes.

ALL-AMERICAN TACKLE: Returning All-American Jordan Morgan (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Northwest) has only missed one game in his career and has started at left tackle in 31 of Kutztown's last 32 games, including a streak of 12 consecutive starts. He was the team MVP last year and earned his first All-PSAC East First Team award. Morgan earned Preseason All-America honors from Lindy's Sports and College Football America.

PASS ATTACK: Dating back to 2011, Kutztown has thrown 30 or more pass attempts in 35 of its last 42 games (83.3 percent).

TEAM CAPTAINS: Kutztown's team captains for the 2015 season are Eric Condron (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge), Zack Delp (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), Jordan Morgan (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Northwest) and Kellen Williams (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg).

STOPPING THE RUN: KU's success under second-year head coach Jim Clements has stood true with its defensive ability to stop the run. Under Clements, KU is 7-0 when holding its opponent to less than 100 yards rushing.

ALL-REGION KICKER: An All-PSAC East First Team and All-Region Third Team selection as a freshman last year, sophomore kicker Alec Rosenfeld (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) is 15-of-18 in career field goal attempts, tied for fifth all-time in school history for field goals made. He tied the school-record for field goal percentage in a season last year at 85.7 percent, and holds a career-long of 46 yards, two yards shy of the school-record.

COFFIN CORNER: Senior punter Andrew Deutsch (Kutztown, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) earned All-PSAC honors last year. He ranks fourth in school history in career punting yardage with 6,118, fourth with a 36.6 career average and fourth with 167 career punts.

OVERTIME HEARTBREAK: Since 1996, KU is 2-9 in overtime games. Its first OT win was a 26-23 victory over Millersville in three overtimes in the final game of the 2007 season. Its most recent OT win was the 2014 season-finale, when a last-second touchdown pass catapulted a 41-35 win at Clarion. KU's most recent overtime game was on Oct. 17, 2015, a 27-21 loss at Bloomsburg (1OT).
